December holds a special place in my heart. That’s because, it’s not only Christmas season, but it’s also my birthday month. And if there was ever an excuse to get playful and fun with my wardrobe, this is it. So, when it came to my birthday outfit this year, I knew I wanted to build an outfit with an ugly Christmas sweater. Because let’s face it, my obsession with ugly Christmas sweater is real and, of course, it’s only fitting to celebrate my next trip around the sun with my little bestie. After all, part of the joy of wearing an ugly Christmas sweater and celebrating a birthday is the shared experience of excitement in enjoying life’s precious moments. Today, we are back for a fun holiday Mommy and Me outfit that is festive chic!
Let’s kick things off with our matching ugly Christmas sweater.
Every year, I am always on the lookout for cute ones. I have 3 in my closet right now and still can’t get enough. My goal is to have one for each day of December! Not only is it fun, unique, festive but it’s also one of those easy pieces you can just throw on and go especially this time of year. This adorable snowman sweater from Amazon is a new favorite of mine. It has a classic crewneck style that is so soft and perfect to wear all throughout the day. I literally feel like I am wrapped in a cozy blanket all day long. The colors are vibrant and the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. But what I love the most is it has a matching little sweater for my little guy. We have matching ugly Christmas tree sweater that we wore last December, and they were a huge hit with people. So, naturally, I absolutely could not resist it. #noselfcontrol
Our snowman sweaters are the type of piece that pairs easily with black jeans and that’s exactly what my little bestie is doing here. But, for me, I wanted to do something different for my special day. So, I styled this cutie with a classic black skater skirt by Urban Coco also from Amazon and I love how it turned my sweater into a sweater dress! Though the skirt is shorter than I typically go for as it hits several inches above my knee, I think the silhouette of this skirt is particularly lovely and flattering. The waistband is elasticized with plenty of stretch and moves beautifully. Beyond that, this skirt was a fun way to take an ugly Christmas sweater and spice it up a bit!
Of course, no festive chic holiday outfit is complete without a pair bold red rain boot. But that’s just my opinion. I love how it takes our outfit up a notch and been shocked by how much use we’ve gotten out of it. Our rain boots have served us well through many rainy seasons, muddy corn mazes, and we have even packed them on our annual cabin trip to Arnold. Unfortunately, both our pair are old and recently, I realized mine were done in as I discovered a big crack on the back of the boot. #amomentofsilence
On a different note, my son and I are officially on our winter break as we gear up for Christmas next week. We are staying in town the first week and then the day after Christmas, we’ll be heading to my parents to spend the rest of our break there. Even though, they don’t live that far, it’s always a nice little break from reality and, of course, I am excited to eat at all my favorite restaurants, lol.
So, before I close out this year’s post, I also wanted to let you guys know that I recently accepted a job offer at one of our local elementary schools #yayforme and have decided to take a break from blogging come January. No doubt that I will be back, but I want to focus on adjusting and getting used to my new role, schedule, and classroom.
With that all said, I couldn’t let today pass without wishing you all a wonderful Christmas. I hope you spend it with your loved ones – eating, relaxing, and just enjoying the day.
Whew! I did not intend for this post to be so long, but I got a little carried away so congrats if you made it this far. #omgsheisstilltalking

That tree in the background with all the red ornaments really works with your sweaters! I love the red boots, too! I just got out my red Hunter boots not too long ago and they really add a pop of color to any outfit. Happy holidays!

I completely agree with this. What a fun and festive way to celebrate your birthday month! I love how you incorporated an ugly Christmas sweater into your outfit; they are so cosy and perfect for this time of year. The matching snowman sweaters for you and your little one are adorable and definitely add to the festive spirit. I love those snowman sweaters and need to get one for myself. Snowmen are my favorite Christmas season decoration, and I love the color red, it’s perfect! I really like the skirt with it, too, and the leggings to keep warm when wearing a skirt in the winter is a great idea.
