I love all holidays, but I especially love Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. That’s because, it gives me a reason to wear fun, quirky, and unique outfits! For instance, you know we are a sucker for ugly Christmas sweaters. It is the item we wear the most come December and one of my favorite outfits to put together. Not only are they soft, cozy, and fun but they are perfect for adding a festive flair without too much effort. They work well with jeans for a laid-back look, but also works great with skirts for a casual holiday gathering. Naturally, what I love the most about it, though, is that it’s also a great piece to coordinate looks with your child if you appreciate a good mommy and me styling like I do. In fact, wearing matching ugly Christmas sweaters is one of our longstanding traditions and today’s post is a look featuring just that!

We now own several holiday sweaters, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that most of them are from Shein. They usually have unique details like interesting seam work, patches or paint-splatters that I don’t see anywhere else, and this patchwork Christmas sweater is no exception. The fit is relaxed, the length is just right, and the fabric is soft and easy to wear. Of course, the best feature are the different colors in it that make it easy to pair with many other items in our closet.

Speaking of which, as much as we like the ease of a blue denim and white sneakers outfit, for this look, we chose to pair our ugly Christmas sweater with black skinny jeans and bright colored rain boots. We absolutely live in ours during the cool, rainy months and I absolutely love the pop of color against our black jeans. In my opinion, it’s a pleasing combination that is unexpected and effortlessly chic.

As an aside, I’ve been on the hunt for a good pair of rain boots after my red ones bit the dust and the yellow ones I am wearing here is from Nomad. I love everything about it – the color, fit, and style. They do not require any breaking in and are super comfortable right out of the box. On top of that, in an attempt to use and rotate through all my designer handbags, I used this opportunity to carry my Chanel purse that I bought in 2000. It often seems too formal for my everyday looks, so it spends a lot of time sitting pretty in my closet. Now, I wonder why I waited so long to bring her out. #doh

Do you all have any fun Christmas traditions with friends and family? If so, I’d love to know!
