Even though, it doesn’t rain much where I live, in my opinion, a pair of rain boots is a closet staple.  That’s because its simplicity, practicality, and versatility make them an easy go to.  In fact, I owned a red pair from Forever 21 that I couldn’t stop reaching for.  As you can see, it had been my trusty companion through many rainy seasons, muddy corn mazes, and even the snow! Until, of course, it bit the dust.  Since then, I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement.  After a year of searching, I am happy to report, I finally found what I was looking for when I came across these Hurricane III rain boots from Nomad and it was love at first sight! Today, I am sharing all the details you need to know about these rain boots. So, if you are considering adding them to your wardrobe, I hope this review will help you decide if they are the right fit for you.

Design

First, let’s talk a little bit about the design.  

These Nomad Hurricane III rain boots are a pull-on style that features a simple knee-high silhouette with a matte finish, silver buckle detail, round-toe box, and a 1” inch heel.  It also has a light knit lining and a thick outsole that provide great traction and is slip-resistant.

Size & Fit

Size-wise, the Nomad Hurricane III rain boots are only available in whole sizes.  So, if you are in-between sizes or for ½ sizes, Nomad suggests ordering the next size up.  Since my normal shoe size is a 7 that is what I ordered, and I would say it runs true to size.  Right out of the box, I found them comfortable, easy to walk in, and didn’t require any break in period which is a huge plus.  

That said, there are a couple of things I do want to note.  The first is that these rain boots do not offer any arch support.  It is generally comfortable, but for extended wear, I’d recommend adding a pair of insoles.  

Secondly, they fit a bit tight around the calves.  I have wide, uneven calves and as expected, one of the shoes fit tight around my calf.  Since the buckle detail on the side is purely decorative, there’s no way to adjust to loosen the top of the boot for a more relaxed fit.  Thought, not a deal break for me, it’s something to keep in mind.

Material

In terms of material, these Nomad Hurricane III rain boots are made of 100% rubber.  So, they are completely waterproof and durable.  But perhaps the best thing about these rain boots is that they are low maintenance.  I love that they don’t require a lot of upkeep and when it gets dirty, they are easy to wipe clean.

Color

While the simple design of the Nomad Hurricane III rain boots caught my eye, what sealed the deal for me was the color.  As soon as I saw the yellow version of this boot, I knew I had to have it! It’s such a happy hue, and I just love how it adds a touch of something extra to any outfit.  Of course, if yellow isn’t your jam, Nomad offers these Hurricane III rain boots in other different colors such as black, green, and navy.

Final Thoughts

I am completely smitten with my Nomad Hurricane III rain boots.  They’ve really exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, practicality, and style.  But it is its versatility that make me love them even more.  Whether I go for a sweater dress, a bodysuit and overall, or even with an ugly Christmas sweater, these Nomad Hurricane III rain boots go pretty much with everything.
