As you all know my son loves trains which meant a trip to Train Town was a must. So, back in October, that’s exactly what we did! It was our first time there, and we had a great time.
If you aren’t familiar with Train Town, it is a small amusement park located in Sonoma that caters to younger children. Admission and parking are free, so you just pay for the ride you want. Inside Train Town, there are 6 ride attractions like a plane ride, a mini roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, and the carousel that is perfectly sized for young children. Best of all, there’s a train ride that takes you around the park. It goes through bridges, tunnels, and makes a stop at a miniature town called Lakeview that has a petting zoo with goats and alpacas. And, while we didn’t eat there, they do also sell food and have a gift shop with a treasure trove of train-related books, keepsakes, and toys. If you are in the area or planning a trip to Sonoma with kids, I recommend stopping by.
That said, here’s a few of the photos from our visit to Sonoma Train Town.
Are you or your child a fan of trains?

That sounds like such a fun place to explore for kids! It reminds me of a place we have up here called Edaville Railroad which they’ve slowly been turning over to a train themed family amusement park with lots of other rides perfect for younger kids. We used to take our boys for Thomas the tank engine days wen Thomas would visit.

It looks like a fun spot to bring children! We went to the botanical gardens in New Orleans a couple years ago and they have the cutest little miniature train town set up outside. Pretty large too.
