Carter’s 2-Piece Snowsuit Set Review

Going on a snow trip is an exciting, fun experience for the whole family.  We’ve taken the little guy since he was little, and this year is no different.  Of course, when heading out on a cold-weather adventure whether it’d be skiing, snowboarding, or sledding, it’s important to have the right gear.  And for the last two years, my son has been wearing the Carter’s 2-Piece Snowsuit Set. Let me just say, it does not disappoint.  It is a wonderful set that not only looks good but is built with comfort and warmth in mind.  So, today, I am going to review, talk you through the details and share all the things I love about the Carter’s 2-Piece Snowsuit Set.

Let’s dive in!

Size

First, let’s chat about the size.

The measurements on this set are true to size, but my little guy is built on the smaller side.  At the time I bought this, my son was 7 and the 5-6T fit him with room to grow.  With that in mind, it’s cut generously and allows for several layers underneath.

Jacket

Next up is the jacket.

The Carter’s snowsuit jacket is made of 100% polyester, and has a comfy, relaxed fit.  The inside is fleeced lined, so it is nice and warm.  For extra comfort, it also has an attached hood that stays in place well.  Though it is worth noting, the hood is large and does not fit snugly as you can see in the pictures.  On the bright side, thanks to a roomier fit, it allows your little one to wear a hat underneath it.  For us this means if my little guy is not skiing and wearing a helmet, I couple his hood with a beanie.

Another great feature of the jacket are the cuffs and adjustable Velcro closure at the wrists.  They help keep warmth in while protecting his arms from getting wet which obviously means more time in the snow!

Of course, part of what gives the Carter snowsuit its distinctive look is its pocket layout.  Not do they make this set irresistibly cute, but I am happy to report that they are functional and are generously sized.  It can easily accommodate valuables like his ski pass or stuffing his cold little hands into while walking around the neighborhood.

As a bonus, this hooded jacket can be worn on its own and makes for a nice casual layer to wear out on the town after skiing or even at school.

Snow Bib

As for the overall-style bib, the outer shell is made of the same materials as the jacket.  While not lined with fleece, these are insulated, and the inner lining is warm and soft against the skin.  The top of the bib has a front zipper that makes it easy to get it on and off as well as adjustable straps that go over the shoulders.  This ensures a proper fit and help to keep it in place which is especially important if you have a child that is on the smaller side like I do.  In fact, because of the bib, I was never worried about snow getting down my son’s back because the extra fabric extends above the waist and prevents snow from getting inside.  #worththepeaceofmind

On top of that, just like the jacket, the Carter’s snow bib has elastic cuffs at the ankles to help keep the snow out and warmth in.

Color

In terms of color, the Carters 2-Piece Snowsuit Set come in a few different options. So, you can find one that fits your child’s personality and style.  We bought the navy bear with matching snow bib, and I just adore the bear face on the front! However, I do want to note, that our set came with a grey snow bib instead of blue as shown in the product photo. That said, this is not a huge issue for us. In fact, in my opinion, it’s a cute color combination.

Quality

Finally, regarding the quality, I can say that this Carter snowsuit has held up remarkably well.  After putting it to use these past two years, this set has proven to be hardwearing and tough. There are no notable wear or major issues to date.  There is no loose stitching, and the exterior looks like new, and the same goes for the interior lining. What’s more, when my little guy gets anything on his snowsuit, it is so easy to wipe clean. #momwin

Final Thoughts

All in all, this Carter’s Heavyweight Snowsuit Set is one of the cutest snowsuits around.  Not only has it been perfect for our cold, wet winter but it also worked great for our snow trip! He had a blast. This snowsuit kept him perfectly dry and warm as he rode on a sled, built a snowman, and skied! If you are looking for a well-made children’s snowsuit that can handle all the action and won’t break the bank, I highly recommend you check this out!

Carter is a good quality brand and you definitely want good quality if you’re playing in the snow. Keeping warm is everything otherwise you have to come inside and miss all of the fun.

We have been grateful for our hand me downs snow pants for the youngests as we don’t see snow very often. We did put ours to use this winter break. I will keep this one in mind next time we need a new size.
