Happy Wednesday everyone!
I hope you are doing well.
Today marks the end of the 30-day traffic challenge that I have been undertaking. If you are following me on Facebook, you have likely seen me posting about the daily challenges. In this blog post, I will be giving you insights on the book Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers by Russell Brunson. This would also include how to go about the challenge, what to expect and what to benefit from it.
So, letβs dive inβ¦
Russell Brunson is a digital marketing entrepreneur, CEO and the co-founder of the sales funnel builder software company called Click Funnels. He has built a following of over a million entrepreneurs and popularized the concept of sales funnels. He is also the author of The Secrets Trilogy which include DotCom Secrets, Expert Secrets and his latest book, Traffic Secrets.
Put simply, Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers is a book on evergreen traffic generation to your website or business funnels.
Itβs a daily plan that helps you master key traffic strategies to find out exactly who your dream customer is, how to find them and how to get their attention to pull them in.
If you are a regular reader of LMC, then youβll know that I decided to start blogging as a way to have a creative outlet for me when I became a mama. My intent going into it was not to make money but rather I wanted a space to express myself and to connect with others in a similar situation. Fast forward to the end of 2019, I started getting asked about is βwhatβs next?β with my blog or will I ever do something more with it?
To be honest, I have never given any serious thought to taking my blog to the next level and it got me to really thinking if that is something I want to do.
So, I spent what seemed like hours researching on how to increase traffic to my social media channels and blog. But after reading countless articles, I just found myself completely overwhelmed. It was hard to sift through hundreds of posts and glue all the bits of information together. I wonβt say that doing my own research didnβt teach me anything, because it did. But it felt like I was running in circles and I had trouble gaining the traction that I needed.
When the opportunity came up to join the Traffic Secrets 30-day challenge with Russell Brunson, I went for it. I needed the help. I knew that joining this challenge was a great way for me to move my blog in the right direction.
Before I started this challenge, I was already behind. As I mentioned, I started my blog as a creative outlet with no real direction or focus. So, the first several days were overwhelming. Not only was I stressed but I had a lot of self-doubt. There were parts of the challenge that I knew were coming up that intimidated me. Things like how to deliver my message more effectively when I wasnβt sure who my target audience was. Or sharing an offer when I had no idea what I was trying to sell was enough to send me in a constant panic. Frankly, I even considered dropping out of the challenge entirely.
And thatβs where Traffic Secrets by Russell Brunson comes in.
One of the things that I really liked about the book is the level of simplicity that Russell showcased in introducing the concept of traffic. He provides countless tools to ensure that you get a foundational understanding of exactly what traffic is and how you should look at it in order to pull in your target audience. Each of his βsecretβ builds on the one before and together, it gives you a clear and comprehensive framework. So, there is no guessing about what you should be doing because he speaks from experience and tell you what worked for him. He gives you easy to digest information that you can implement no matter where you are in your blogging journey. He literally takes you hand by hand through the process.
So, the things that intimidated me wasnβt scary at all because everything in the book is broken down into simple steps. Not just that, I was also given daily homework. I had practical exercises to do and apply what I have learned in the challenge. This helped me knew exactly what I needed to do throughout the day to stay on track and meet my long-term goals.
By the end of the challenge, I knew the areas I still needed to fix and work on.
This book and challenge have been a wealth of resource for me.
As a blogger, getting the attention of your target audience can be difficult. But this book really lays out the foundation you need to master crucial strategies to do just that. Learning about how to find my target audience and building an email list has been key takeaways for me.
Admittedly, I thought I somewhat knew what I was doing. But reading Traffic Secrets and taking the 30-day challenge, I realized how much I donβt know about blogging and what it entails. Traffic Secrets filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge. It also opened my eyes to many things I am doing incorrectly and the resources that I am not utilizing. Clearly my blogging process need some work!
That said, I plan to focus on revisiting my blog foundation, refining my offer and improving my strategy so that I can start to build my email list.
In a nutshell, I am so glad that I found Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers when I did. It has been a huge help to me. It taught me all about the nuts and bolts of blogging traffic. Every day, I got new insights on how to proceed with my blog.
If you are wondering is Traffic Secrets worth reading? The answer is yes! But donβt just take my word for it, grab your free copy and try it out for yourself.
Have you tried to monetize a hobby? What worked and what didn’t?

Wow! I love that you took such a deep dive into this topic and whether you choose to pursue it or not, it gave you a new perspective and knowledge. I also started my blog for that creative outlet but do not have the energy or desire to build a business from it because I have a full-time job that I am passionate about and have no plans of leaving. That being said, I’ve often thought that I would love to collaborate with others to learn from them.

I found this book really interesting too. Blogging has always been a hobby for me so I don’t think I want to monetize my blog to the point of some other bloggers and sell products if that makes sense. I think that would take away from my love for it. But this book gave me some great ideas to create a free ‘product’ to help entice more readers which I think would be great and maybe allow me to make some extra off of affiliate links. It was a lot of food for thought and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to take part in this challenge! Your post was so good! I love the way you structured it!

It’s great this book really helped you! I’ve thought I should try a little harder with my blog sometimes, be a bit more professional and analyse traffic and SEO and things, but the truth is I’m happy it being my creative outlet for a bit of fun and I know if I want to change that in the future I can, but I’m content for now. So good you are trying to do things bigger and better, and that this book helped! Good luck with it! π
Hope that you are having a lovely weekend π

Your experience resonated with me. I have been feeling I am behind with blogging and everything else. I want to do blogging and social media as a career and had done it before I had health issues and had to put it all on hold. When I came back, I felt like I needed to dive in, but I didn’t have direction. This has been so good in helping me figure out what it is I really want and need from all of this! I can’t wait to see more from your blog!
