Back To Basics: All Black Outfit

Admittedly, January and February were hard months to get through. Between the crazy weather, mom life and everything in between, I have had my hands full and I found myself in a little bit of a funk. I feel drained and uninspired. On top of that, if you are following along on Instagram, I mentioned this in January in this post and if I am completely honest, I am finding it difficult to snap out of it. I even questioned if this was for me and wondered where I want this blog to go. While I am still feeling a little lost and unsure about everything, I am trying to take things day by day.
With that said, there’s something so refreshing about getting back to the basics. Sometimes all you need when you are feeling less than fabulous is to wear your favorite look. Personally, I just can’t get away from basic black. I love an all-black outfit! It’s an easy and stylish way to achieve a timeless look with minimal effort.
I pulled this look together with existing pieces in my closet. You might already recognize this oversized sweater; I featured it in this post. I paired it with my favorite black ripped jeans and combat boots to give the outfit an edgy grunge vibe. As for accessories, I chose my cobalt blue backpack to add a nice dose of color and fun!

I’ve been feeling really uninspired as well and was thinking about maybe becoming more of a home decor blogger since my home posts always do better. I’m not sure yet, but I totally know how you feel! I was in a major funk in January and February too. We had a lot of sickness and my husband was traveling A LOT for work and man… it was hard to get inspired with the blog through all that. Love this look and one can never go wrong with h to t black, it is the NYC uniform hahaha. I wore h to t black in high school a lot b/c we didn’t have money so no one would notice I was often wearing the same clothes.
I hear you blogging can be exhausting. I worked in the magazine industry and was laid off and now there are no jobs, and blogs along with publishing are dying a slow death being pushed out by YT and IG and ever constant changing algorithm and a VERY crowded space.
Then when you add in all faking and people buying followers and likes and the habit of following someone just to unfollow them as soon as they follow you back and the habit of many bloggers of not commenting back to a comment someone left but just being lazy and commenting back on their own blog which also makes it look like they have more comments then they do, it is not wonder so many of us are suffering from burn out

Maureen, Take the time you need to refresh and come back stronger. I will tell you from my experience that I went through times when I needed a break to remind my self why I started blogging and it is okay to feel that way. So don’t feel discouraged. Take your time, prioritize and I am sure you will be able to figure something out.
