The brand Farm Rio has been around for a while, but it wasn’t until I saw this Hearts Ikat Print Dress that I became a fan.  There’s something about the style and ease of the dress that got me.  I’ve been staring at this dress for a few months now, and I finally scooped it up for my birthday.  When it arrived, it was even better in person. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and the details are well thought out.  Once I tried it on, I fell in love with it even more.  It makes such a statement in a really classic way.  So, today, I am excited to share a review of this Farm Rio Hearts Ikat Dress including fit, material, and color in case you were eyeing this style as well.

Fit

So, first things first, let’s chat about the fit.

Given this Farm Rio Hearts Ikat Dress has a classic shift style design, I will say that size wise, it has a forgiving cut and runs big but not oversized.  I am almost always a small in dresses, and I went down one full size to xs and it still had a little bit of room.  It does come with a detachable matching belt with beaded detail, so you can customize the fit.  But, if you are in between sizes or like a more fitted look, you should size down.  

Additionally, the dress is obviously meant to be a mini dress, but I am #funsize at just 5’0 ft, and it hits a little above the knee on me and isn’t too short.  I am able to sit down without having to worry about flashing.  

But, besides the fit and length, this Farm Rio dress has voluminous puff sleeves that add some visual interest and the ¾ sleeve length is perfect for those who like arm coverage like me.  

And, if that wasn’t enough, it has pockets!

Material

In terms of material, this Farm Rio Hearts Ikat Dress is made with 100% linen.  The fabric has a nice texture that is both thick and substantial but not stiff and hot.  In fact, it is totally breathable, soft, and feels great against the skin.

What’s more, due to the thickness of the material, it is extremely flattering as the dress doesn’t cling and just drapes beautifully all over the body.  So, there’s no sucking in. #hallelujah

On top of that, I was worried that it would be a wrinkled mess after a long day of sitting, but that’s not the case at all.  I wore this outfit during our recent outing to Michael David Winery and then to my son’s winter concert a few weeks later and it didn’t wrinkle up too badly with wear.

Pattern & Color

If you know me, then you know that I am a fan of all things heart.  This Farm Rio dress is a fun take on the classic shape.  I love how the allover ikat hearts print gives it a playful unique twist while the warm earth tones give it a cool vintage feel.  And, depending on the look you are going for, you could easily dress this piece up or down with a simple of swap of shoes and accessories.

Style

Speaking of which, by now you guys know, my family and I are very much homebodies. Exciting days usually include a trip to the UPS store or cruising through the aisles of Costco! So, when we decided to venture to Michael David Winery for a day out and about, you better believe we took that as an excuse to dress up!

That said, I styled this Farm Rio Hearts Ikat Dress with these new to me camel knee-high boots from Amazon that features a round-toe, low chunky heel, and size zipper.  Out of the box, there’s no breaking in, so it’s comfortable, easy to walk in, and to get in and out of.  But, as someone with broader calves, what I really love about these boots is that it has enough space to fit well in that area.  #keeper

From there, I added my YSL Toy LouLou Bag into the mix.  This is such a beautiful bag and perfect for all my essentials.  I love its versatility and the silver hardware.  Then, I topped off my outfit with these oversized frame sunnies from Amazon.

As for my son, he coordinated with me with this cute suit set from Amazon and I love how it can be easily mix and matched with all kinds of other items. With it, he is wearing a white button up shirt, these black dress shoes from the Children’s Place, and a pair of aviator sunnies that instantly adds that effortlessly cool vibe to finish off his look.
