Mommy & Me Outfit: Chambray Shirt

The term photo shoot may sound glamorous but it’s far from it. Sometimes it’s fun but most of the time it’s awkward. Sometimes things come together like the lighting, the background and the outfit but other times it just doesn’t. For these photos, I had intended on going around our city to capture the pretty blooms that I have seen lately but instead I was met with overgrown weeds, less than perfect blooms and massive grey clouds. Rain was on the horizon and it was coming whether I liked it or not. Not what I expected and not what I planned but I was determined to get photos taken and that we did! We may have not captured the best lighting or blooms, but my little one managed to look at the camera and smile at the same time, I would call that a success, wouldn’t you?
For this post, my mini and I wore our chambray shirt for a denim on denim outfit. A simple yet adorable look. In my opinion, there is nothing cuter than twinning with your mini and there’s nothing better than twinning in chambray! I am a jeans and tee girl at heart, so I personally love the look of a head to toe denim ensemble. This classic chambray shirt is one of the most versatile pieces in my closet and it’s a staple for any season. While there are multiple ways you can style this shirt, my favorite way of styling my chambray shirt is to wear it with denim. It’s one of my favorite outfits to throw on when running out the door and the best part, this is an everyday look that never fails!
My chambray shirt is from Old Navy while my son’s shirt is from Osh Kosh. Both of our shirts are light wash and since this outfit is about casual comfort, we kept our outfit simple with just adding brown accessories to add interest to our look. Unfortunately, both of our shirts are old, but the good news is that there are so many cute options out there. If you don’t have a chambray shirt, Old Navy has one for under $30. And in case you are in the market for some cute options, I am sharing more favorites below.

Okay, could you two be any cuter?!? Gushing over here. Every time I stop by, I am inspired by your look but today the little man is totally stealing the show. How awesome is it to see you two twinning. I wish I would have utilized the girls younger years to do a bit more or that, but now they are acquiring their own style which is totally fine, but sometimes I wish we could twin too. 🙂
