Mommy & Me Outfit: Leopard Sweater

I hope you all had a great weekend.
I am moving a little slowly this morning, but I am excited for today’s post, because I am sharing a really fun mommy and me outfit!
Last month was the hubby’s birthday. He had been craving Mediterranean food, so we headed to Walnut Creek and celebrated at Opa! We have eaten here years ago and wanted to go back. To start, we had their beef appetizer and let me tell you, it was incredible! For our meal, both the little man and hubby got the steak kabobs while I went for the chicken. If you are in the area, I recommend visiting. After our yummy lunch, we spent some time outside – window shopping, taking some pictures and people watching.
Now a little bit about our looks!
It’s no secret that I love animal print especially leopard. I don’t know what it is about this pattern, but I am always drawn to them. I own several leopard pieces in my closet that I have collected over the years like this belt bag, shoes and kimono, but it seems like I just can’t get enough of it! So, you can imagine my excitement when I saw this leopard sweater online. It is the latest addition to my animal print arsenal because honestly, what’s there not to love? Nothing can jazz up a look like an animal print. So, it probably goes without saying, it looks good on everyone.

When it comes to putting our mommy and me outfits together, I love to find exact twin looks when I can find them but if my son and I can’t have completely matching outfits, then I like to create our own mommy and me styles instead. With its classic cut and timeless print, this sweater* from Shein made it very simple to create an outfit that flows and coordinates with my little man. I found this leopard vest for him on Amazon and it could not have been more perfect! It is subtle yet speak volume on its own.

Since leopard print is an eye-catching pattern and undeniably a statement piece, one of my favorite ways to wear this print is by pairing it with black, white or other neutral colors. These colors blend and complement each other nicely. It allows the print to be the focal point of the outfit. Therefore, it was a no brainer that I chose to have my son wear a black long sleeve shirt with jeans, because it draws the eye to the leopard print in his sweater vest while keeping his look classic and carefree. If you prefer a dressier ensemble, my little man styled this leopard vest with a white button-down shirt and a pair of khaki pants.
Safe to say, not only did we rock our mommy and me outfit during our outing, but my little man has just proven to you that anyone can look good wearing animal print!

Yay for both of your outfits! I love animal print too! Funny story, I ordered a few dresses and just picked based in style. When. They came is when I realized they were all different versions of animal print. Also, on Halloween we did a Caveman theme. You are both rocking this look! So so so cute! I think the beenie was really the cake topper for me, making the little man look so sweet and on trend. Your bond with him always floors me to be honest. Every time I come by here, I have a feeling of nostalgia and the desire to rewind time and go back to this age with my girls.
