Photo Diary: Sirena Del Mar Cabo
When you are looking to take a vacation away from home, you want to pick a location the whole family can enjoy but is also relatively easy to get to. There’s no denying that Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is the ideal place for a getaway! Not only is the flight short from California but Cabo has something for everyone. Last November, my family and I decided to go to Cabo on a whim after feeling the need for a major vacation. Though we have been to Cabo a few times, this trip was my favorite yet because unlike our other trips, this one was more about relaxation than adventure.
During our time in Cabo, we stayed at the Welk Resorts Sirena del Mar and it was nothing short of amazing! Located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, Sirena del Mar is an oceanfront resort that is set on a cliff overlooking the Sea of Cortez and the famous rock formation, El Arco. The atmosphere and ambiance of this property is laid back and relaxed. Of course, it certainly helped that the resort is a bit out of the way from downtown!
We spent six days doing absolutely a whole lot of nothing and what a magical few days it was! We stayed at the resort the entire time and we took advantage of the pools, swim up bar, private beach and restaurant. Essentially, we ate, we lounged, we slept then repeat. Everything was a step away from our room and I found this convenience priceless. It was nice to not be rushing around for a change and time truly slowed down. Let me tell you, it was exactly what we needed!

Great post! We just got back from a wonderful cruise – yesterday. I’m wondering how do you get your pictures to automatically enlarge when you mouse over them? That’s a great feature and one I’ve never seen.

Such a gorgeous place! Super jealous of your short flights, every time we look up flights to Cabo we only see 2+ layovers and over 12 hours of travel time. Hoping that’ll change soon <3

What a beautiful resort! Looks like a great time. The only place I’ve ever been on the West side of Mexico is Tiajuana – short day visits when I’ve been in San Diego. We love Cozumel on the East side and would love to explore more of the West side of Mexico one day!

Love this and now I have to check out Cabo. We’ve never been there but I am thinking maybe next time we venture to Mexico, we need to keep it as an option. Your resort looks beautiful and I absolutely love the firepit idea. I love that you and your little man have the Best Friend shirts and that he is totally into wearing them with you. Our vacation this time was also low key and we opted out of doing any of the adventures/tours, as we just needed downtown. It always surprises me how much alike we are. Hahahaha.
