Instagram Roundup for April and May 2020

Happy Monday everyone!

How was your weekend?

Ours was good and in my opinion, much better that food was involved! I woke up Saturday morning in a cooking mood and I just went with it. For the record, I am no cook and I admit, I am challenged in this area. But I am happy to report that from the veggie burgers to the banana bread I made, everything was hubby and kid approved! Then I got caught up on little to-dos around the house and started reading a new book which I am excited to share with you soon. Sunday was low-key and lazy. Let’s just say, this weekend was a nice refuge from all the chaos in the world and definitely from homeschooling!

On a different note, I wanted to try something new here on the blog.  Not all my outfits make it to the blog as full posts nor do the photos I post on Instagram get the full attention they deserve so for the sake of documenting, I decided to do an Instagram roundup for the month of April and May.

That said, it probably goes without saying that it feels incredibly insensitive posting anything style or sales related when some of us are barely staying afloat during this time.  I hope you know that my intention behind sharing my outfits or recent purchases isn’t to pressure you to buy something that you don’t need but rather my hope is that this type of post or these photos serve as examples so you can create a similar combination with pieces you already have.  So, despite of what’s going on, I hope you enjoy this post.

April 2020

Sweater Dress

Me in black sweater dress photo

Sweater Dress (old, similar) | Boots (old, similar) | Handbag | Sunglasses (old, similar) | Socks (old, similar)

I’ve always been a fan of sweater dress and they are a wardrobe staple for me.  Not only are they so easy to dress up or dress down but a basic black turtleneck sweater dress is always going to stay in style.  I found this sweater dress at Forever 21 last year and it’s the best $18 I have ever spent! The fit is relaxed, and I love that the fabric is not clingy at all.  I paired it with combat boots to give the outfit an edgy grunge vibe.  As for accessories, I chose my mini crossbody bag and matching socks to add a nice dose of color and fun! In my opinion, this is an easy weekend look – one that is both comfortable and chic.  I can’t wait until Fall to wear it again!

Athleisure wear

Matching with my son in athleisure wear outfit for spring or summer

Shirt (old, similar) | Leggings (old, similar) | Shoes (old, similar) | Sunglasses (old, similar)

Quarantine life calls for cleaning and organizing.  While I didn’t clean or organize any cabinets or drawers in my house, I did manage to somewhat organize my computer desktop! I came across old photos including this one and I would be remiss if I didn’t share this.  Not only do I live in leggings year-round but because dressing alike with my little guy is something that I love to do.

Everything about this outfit is old.  I have had both this t-shirt and leggings for a couple years now and both are a favorite of mine.  It’s such a great every day “throw on” outfit to lounge in around at home or out and about.

Kate Spade Wallet

Wallet

Of all the things I love, I am obsessed with handbags and small leather goods the most.  So, when I came across the Ever Fallen Collection from Kate Spade at Macy’s last year, I was instantly drawn to this wallet.  When I saw it on sale for 50% off last month, I knew it was meant to be.  I just adore the classic silhouette, the blush pink interior and whimsical print.  Let’s just say, it’s everything I hoped it would be and more.  There is a full review coming soon so stay tuned for that!

May 2020

Tie-dye Hoody

Treasure and Bond Tie Dye Hoody for cooler April weather

Hoody (sold out, similar) | Leggings (old, similar) | Shoes (old, similar) | Backpack

I’ve been on the hunt for a cute tie dye piece, so I was excited to find this Treasure & Bond hoody from Nordstrom for only $23.  The fabric is soft, and the colors are beautiful! It’s perfect to wear with leggings but you can also pair it with jeans, a denim skirt or shorts for a casual chic look! I bought an XS and it fits true to size. The material is on the thinner side so it’ll come in handy for those cool summer mornings and evenings or even as a travel companion.

Leopard Dress

Me in a leopard dress worn with heels for summer events

Dress | Sandals (old, similar) | Sunglasses (old, similar

It’s no secret that I love leopard print and if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen this dress before.  I bought this dress in a small last year and it has been on repeat pre-quarantine.  It fits like a glove and the quality is amazing! The fabric is light, drapes well and not clingy at all.  The ruffle top and side slits add an unexpected element of sexy.  And if you need another reason to love it, this dress can be worn three different ways – on both shoulders, off one shoulder and off both shoulders.  Oh, and it has pockets!

Jumpsuit

Floral Jumpsuit Outfit Idea for Spring

Cardigan | Jumpsuit | Shoes | Handbag

LOFT is one of my favorite stores and my go-to for jumpsuits and rompers.  I was eyeing this piece for weeks and finally bit the bullet. The color is vibrant, and the fit is very flattering and comfy.  I love that it has pockets and a waist tie for some added shape as well.  The length is slightly cropped on the model, but due to my short stature, it comes to the top of my feet. I bought size 2P and it fits true to size.  I am already looking forward to living in it!

Thanks for stopping by today and wishing you all a very fabulous week ahead!

Such cute looks! And your son looks quite comfy in that first photo. I’ve had a hard time justifying posting fashion posts myself, and I have only been doing one a month because of a commitment I made. It all just seems so irrelevant in the times we are living on, not to even mention I’m not dressing up because I haven’t been leaving my house.
