I realized I never shared our Mommy & Me Halloween Costumes with you from 2021 so, today, I thought that this would be the perfect time to do just that! If you’ve been reading LMC for a while now, you know that one of my favorite things about October is Halloween.  Besides all the yummy goodies, the best part of spooky season in my opinion, is dressing up.  Ever since my little guy and I started Mommy and Me themed costumes a couple of years ago, it has become a fun tradition.  In 2018, we dressed up as a Roman Queen & Gladiator. Then in 2020, we dressed up as a Cop & Robber and last year, we embraced our love for being in the kitchen by dressing up as a Baker and Cupcake! Needless to say, it was so fun to play dress up and have a fun night out.  

Speaking of, we had a blast trick-or-treating! My son was so excited to get to hang out with one of his friends from school.  We went to a local neighborhood and visited 20+ houses.  We walked up and down the street and my son got candy until his bucket was overflowing! #gimmeallthekitkat We already can’t wait to do it again in a few weeks!!  

That said, I wanted to take a minute to chat about why we chose this theme. 

As most of you know, I started cooking and baking with my son at a very young age.  Since then, he has developed a love of helping me in the kitchen.  So, whether it’s baking our favorite sugar cookies or making pancakes for breakfast, cooking at home is an activity that we enjoy doing together.  To this day, some of my favorite bonding moments have happened over batter mixing, dough rolling and/or pancake flipping.  Thus, it was a no brainer to what our theme should be.  I ran the idea by the little guy, and he liked the thought of being a baker.  Naturally, I wanted to coordinate with him in some way, and what better way than to be a pastry of some sort!  

Now for a little on our looks!

For my son’s baker outfit, I found this little chef set on Amazon.  It came complete with utensils, mittens and hat.  The best part, his costume required very little assembly.  You literally just need a pair of pants and shoes to complete this outfit.  I did add a long-sleeved shirt underneath for extra warmth since the chef coat is on the thinner side.  

As for my mommy Halloween look, I initially wanted to be a donut! I found this one from Amazon, but when it arrived, the design was a bit wonky.  So, when I came across this adorable cupcake costume, I was sold.  Of course, I admit I was worried about the fit because the costume is designed for a little girl. However, my worries were short lived because not only did the cupcake costume fit my 5’0 ft frame but it had plenty of wiggle room.  Then all I did was pair it with a black top, leggings, shoes, topped it off with this rainbow wig I scored at the Dollar Store and the headband that came with the costume.   

And to tie in both of our look together, I added these crazy, kooky glasses I found at Walmart.  They were a hit and people got a kick out of these silly glasses.  Unfortunately, it’s not very easy to see with so we did take them off after we shot these photos to avoid any incidents.
