Mommy & Me Outfit: Halloween 2023

This month, I shared each part of our DIY food themed costume ideas and, today, I am sharing the final post in our 3-part food themed costume set series.  This post will cover the process of how we put it all together aka our outfits! So, if you missed my previous posts, make sure to catch up and read them here:  Part 1: DIY Cardboard Hamburger Halloween Costume Tutorial and Part 2: DIY Cardboard French Fry Halloween Costume Tutorial.

But, before we get to our outfits, a little note about why we chose this theme.

Few foods are as iconic as the hamburger, and my son and I are one of the many people who love it.  Whenever we get the opportunity to get a hamburger, we do it.  There’s just something about the taste that hits the spot, and we love the many ways to enjoy one.  While some people like to add different toppings, such as bacon, avocado, mushroom, or even an extra patty! Don’t get me wrong, we love those too. For us, we cannot eat our hamburger without a side of golden crispy fries.  #nonnegotiable.  So, when it came to choosing our Halloween costume, there was no question on what we were going to be.

Now moving on to our looks.

Mommy & Me Halloween Costume 2023

For my son’s outfit, he dressed in a solid color to represent the burger patty of the hamburger.  Since we were going for a rotten look black seemed fitting.  So, I pieced together this hamburger costume using pieces from his closet – a long black sleeved top, black shoes, and black pants.

As for my mommy Frenchy Fry Halloween outfit, basically, all I needed was a long black sleeved top, black pants, and black sneakers.

Then to finish off both of our costumes, I added our spooky glasses from last year into the mix!

So, there you have it, that’s how these costumes came to be!
