Shein Yellow Sweater Dress Review
And just like that, it’s Monday again!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.
Ours was very low key. My family and I got to spend a lot of quality time together. We allowed ourselves to relax and spent most of our time alternating from the couch to the kitchen! I totally indulged in all the yummy treats, and it was glorious!
Outside of lazing around, I caught up with reading and finally finished The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. It’s been a while since I’ve read a good thriller and this book did not disappoint! It was full of twists and turns. Simply put, it is an addictive page turner, well worth the read.
On another note, if you follow me on Instagram, then you have seen this darling yellow sweater dress. I got this about a month ago and have been wearing it non-stop. Next to jumpsuits, sweater dresses are my favorite clothing item. But admittedly, I don’t really like shopping for them! It’s surprisingly challenging to find one that meets all the criteria. So, when I stumbled upon this beauty, I almost didn’t order it, but I am glad I did. I adore the cute cable knit pattern on the front of the dress and I like how the sleeves balloon just slightly before tapering at the wrist. In my opinion, it adds a little bit of personality without being over the top. What’s more, the color made it unique as I don’t own many clothing items in this hue. It’s definitely one of my favorite Shein finds so I am excited to finally do a review on it on my blog today.
Let’s chat details!
Size
Fit wise, it is meant to be slightly oversized and has a relaxed silhouette, but it is not too bulky on or baggy either. It has a beautiful drape and hangs nicely on my body. I am wearing a small and I would say the fit is spot on. However, if you are looking for a more fitted look, I would suggest sizing down. Or add a belt to create some shape! Additionally, the length falls right above the knee on my 5’0 frame so keep in mind the dress may come up shorter if you are taller.
Material
In terms of fabric, this sweater dress is made with 100% acrylic which makes this dress very soft, comfortable and not scratchy at all. Plus, the material is not super heavy, but it is thick enough to wear for the California winters we have. Though, if it’s cold where you live, you can wear a warm base layer underneath, add a coat and a pair of black tights for additional warmth.
Color
With respect to the color, obviously, I purchased it in mustard yellow**. I usually prefer neutrals but decided that I needed some color in my life! It definitely adds a punch of fun that brighten up even the greyest wintery days. But if yellow isn’t your thing, I am happy to report it comes in seven other colors. In fact, I love it so much that I am considering getting it in red as well.
Lastly, for this particular look, I completed my outfit with my Coach Willow Camera Bag and some comfy brown ankle boots for that casual chic vibe.
