Mommy & Me: What We Wore in Sonoma

After being homebound for most of last year, my family and I were itching for a change of scenery. Sonoma is a short drive from us, so we packed the car and headed out for a few days. Though, our trip was short with just three days, it was exactly what the doctor ordered! Per usual, I’ll share where we stayed, what we did, and where we ate in a separate post.  But today, like I did with our Santa Barbara and San Diego trips, I am doing a what we wore in Sonoma outfit recap.

For reference, our trip to Sonoma was in early October and temperatures hovered in the mid-sixties to low seventies. So, it was brisk at times, but you could get by without a jacket.

That said, let’s kick it off with our travel look!

Travel Day

We drove directly to Sonoma, so I wanted a look that was comfy and relaxed.  This black sweatshirt dress from Shein seemed like the perfect option! Its got kangaroo pockets and the cutest button detail.  And because I can’t just wear a black outfit, I had to add some pops of color and chose to accent the sweatshirt dress with a fun yellow pair of sneakers and a matching bag.  If this yellow backpack looks familiar, that’s because I also have it in black! Speaking of which, I recently wrote an entire review about all the pros and cons of the Chloe Faye mini backpack if you want a full breakdown.

As for my little bestie, I had him coordinate with this cute emoji sweater from Shein and yellow joggers from Amazon.  The joggers are made of a soft fabric that’s super comfortable and easy to move in.  On his feet are a pair of the Glenn black sneakers from Target.  I love that they have a cool modern silhouette.  They zip up the side, so they are easy to get on and off.  #fussfree

Brunch

We hit downtown Sonoma for brunch the next day, and we kept things super simple with a graphic tee and a pair of cargo jeans.  The jeans are old from Shein and no longer available.  I wish I got more pairs because I wear these pants weekly.  They are soft, comfortable, and they make anything I pair with them look good! Plus, pockets.  #ilovepockets Up top, we are wearing one of our oldie but goodie graphic tees and on our feet, we wore our trusty white kicks.  It was a little chilly, so we wore our new to us matching grey coats to complete our look.

Winery

We had an appointment for wine tasting on this day and used the opportunity to dress up.  I scored this dress from Amazon during Prime Day and knew it would be perfect for this trip.  In case you missed it, I wrote a full review of this dress last month. It has a classic silhouette with a square neckline and puff sleeves. With it, I dressed it up with a pair of low block heels also from Amazon.  This one is so comfortable and easy to walk in.  My clutch is from Shein and one of my favorite finds.  It fits my essentials and has a detachable chain strap if you prefer to carry it as a shoulder bag.  Unfortunately, the white is no longer available, but they have red and pink in stock.

On my son, he is wearing this adorable train sweater from Shein, and I originally showed it in this post.  With it, he is wearing a white denim also from Shein and the same Target sneakers worn in the first look.

Train Town

You can’t come to Sonoma and not visit Train Town

It is a small amusement park that caters to younger children.  With cute and fun rides, this is a must while you’re in the city.  I chose to wear this striped jumpsuit from Shein for this day’s activities.  The fabric is soft and comfortable for a casual day out and about.  Underneath, I styled this with a basic white long sleeve bodysuit and again with my trusty white sneakers.  Of course, I had to add my YSL mini-Lou camera bag in the mix to coordinate with my little guy and tie everything together.

As for my son, he kept things simple with jeans and a basic black long sleeve.  This one is from the Children’s Place and the perfect basic to have in hand.  You can mix and match this with all types of bottoms.  With a pair of sneakers, this is such an easy outfit but one that never fails!
