I’ve been meaning to share this outfit with you for months now.  October of last year to be exact to chat about my favorite fall essentials.  But as seems to always happen, I had other content to share so this kind of got pushed to the back burner.  Since spring is officially here, I felt like now might be the perfect time to share this look with you.  You have heard me talk about versatility from time to time and this outfit is an excellent example of that.  So, although I wore this outfit in the fall, the items shown here can easily be used in the spring.  Best of all, this outfit would be perfect for Mother’s Day, graduation ceremonies, and other springtime events.  That said, in today’s post, I am breaking down what I consider five of my favorite spring wardrobe essentials. These are items I reach for the most, and basically the top five pieces I would recommend investing in.

Let’s start with my jumpsuit, shall we?

Jumpsuit

I know not everyone loves jumpsuits, but I do! Hands down they are one of my favorite items in my closet.  Not only are they easy and comfortable but they are also perfect for those days when you just don’t know what to wear.  This one is a Shein find, and I purchased it over a year ago.  It’s seriously been one of those pieces I find myself reaching for repeatedly.  I simply love every detail about it – the fit, the color, the print…the list goes on.  In fact, I wrote an entire review about this jumpsuit if you want a full breakdown.  Of course, if you are not so much into jumpsuits, a cute dress would also be a great alternative.  Both are such good pieces to have in the closet for an effortless go-to.  

Denim Jacket

In my opinion, a denim jacket is a classic wardrobe essential, and the perfect outerwear choice for spring.  This one I am wearing is an oldie but goodie from Forever21 and I’ve had it for ages! The relaxed slightly oversized fit and lighter color makes it easy to pair with anything.  It adds just the right amount of polish but still gives off that perfect casual laid-back vibe that I just love.  To be honest, even on a summer day, I still love reaching for my denim jacket.  I sunburn easily and this is a great way to cover my arms to keep my skin safe. #isntthatcalledwinning But if you’re not into a denim jacket, a cardigan is another spring wardrobe staple that you’ll get tons of use out of.  

White Sneakers

Since adding a white sneaker to my shoe collection 2 years ago, they have become my most worn footwear throughout every single season.  This pair from Old Navy cannot be beat! You’ve seen them make an appearance on the blog several times but for a very good reason.  They are easy to wear, comfortable and they go with all the clothes in my closet.  Whether it’s this amazing sweatshirt dress, or my tried-and-true denim shorts, their versatility is endless.  Seriously, a must have for every closet!

Mini Backpack

It’s no secret that I am a fan of mini handbags and mini backpacks are no exception.  I have three that I love, and they have been a staple in my closet for over 6 years now.  Out of the three that I own, the Chloe Faye is the one I reach for the most.  Despite its small appearance, it has plenty of room to fit the essentials inside and I adore the sleek, fuss-free design.  It’s also understated yet sophisticated that makes it easy to wear day or night.  And even though its color is not as airy as taupe or light grey, it’s an easy go-to option in the spring or for any time of year, honestly.  Another major bonus is how light it is.  Even when it’s full, it doesn’t get weighed down.  I plan on doing a complete review of this bag soon so stay tuned for that. 

Sunglasses

It may come as a surprise to you that I never used to like wearing sunglasses.  Oh, how times have changed! Nowadays, I never leave home without them.  In my opinion, sunglasses are an important fashion essential, and no spring wardrobe is complete without a good pair of sunnies.  I shared this oversized retro cat eye pair from Amazon in another outfit post and it’s become one of my favorite finds! I find myself wearing these quite a bit.  They fit me well, and the frame is fun and different.  Even the hubby thinks its designer! #shhhhitsourlittlesecret
